Principles

We have agreed on some key principles to represent our fundamental beliefs.

Liberty

Liberty is one cornerstone of modern society. People should be free to choose how to run their own lives and free to choose which products and services they want to buy. The only boundaries to liberty should be the rule of law and not harming or curtailing the freedom of others.

Freedom of Expression

Freedom of expression is a second pillar of modern society. People should be free to express themselves in any way they see fit without fear of censorship. This includes freedom of speech and freedom of religion. The only limit should be incitement to violence.

Equality

We believe that all people are created equal and everyone should be judged by the content of their character, not the colour of their skin, religion, sex or sexual orientation. However, we believe in equality of opportunity, not equality of outcome. People should be free to use their own talents and effort to better themselves.

Rule Of Law

We believe in equality before the law. The law should apply equally to everyone and the legislature should be accountable to the people in society. We are concerned about the rise of judicial activism and increasing influence of unaccountable supra-national bodies in setting laws.

Family

Family is the elementary unit of civic society. Families are the essential for nurturing children, instilling societal values and supporting the elderly

Democracy

Representative democracy is the way that power is dispersed and the mechanism by which ordinary people can express their views on how society and laws should evolve.
